Welcome to the British Virgin Islands!
Let me say first off, you have made the right choice in selecting our beautiful collection of islands to call your new or temporary home. aLookingGlass is enlightened to present the sixth edition of what is renowned to be the British Virgin Islands’ go-to guidebook for visitors and residents to address common questions. Our book provides useful information which will make your adventure here easier and all the more enjoyable.
As a recent “newbie” myself, I have used this book as an encyclopaedia of knowledge and have highlighted and sticky-noted my personal copy to ensure that my time spent in the British Virgin Islands is one to relish, as not everyone gets the opportunity to visit, reside, or retire in a beautiful paradise like this.
When I first visited the islands I instantly fell involve with the aesthetically pleasing natural surroundings, surreal white sand beaches, and especially the welcoming Caribbean hospitality.
Moving to or visiting a new place can be intimidating, so back in 2010 my coworkers at aLookingGlass decided to create Newbie in order for “newbies” to get acquainted with our island, offering advice and a database of pertinent facts.
During your time in the BVI we encourage you to explore all of our islands and seek out the wonderful opportunities and amenities we have here. Get out there and “rock-hop”, discovering each islands’ character and beauty, and be sure to take lots of photos!
New to this version, I, Newbie, share my personal insight on common experiences you may endure in the BVI- I hope they help!
Also, our online “Ask Newbie” section is now in its forth year running and I am available to personally answer any additional questions you may have.
Whether your stay is a short vacation, a temporary living arrangement, or for life, we wish you the very best with this phenomenal location. Those who have been blessed to live their entire lives here may also find this book a very valuable tool as we keep our editions current and updated each year.
